Grape – Bobal

Bobal (“bow-bal”) is a red grape native to Utiel Requena in the Valencia region. Although relatively unknown in the international markets, it’s a real gem and produces potent reds with flavours of red cherry and blueberry and simply glides down with velvety, silky tannins. It’s very high in antioxidants…so it’s perfect for health conscious wine-drinkers and loves to be aged. It’s Spain’s second most planted red grape and used to make some of the best Rose wines. Definitely a grape to try!
